The United States (US) is willing to shift grounds in its campaign against Islamic State (IS) militants in Iraq and Syria, as top US Military officer, Marine General Joseph Dunford, said he will consider recommending the use of direct ground raids.
Defence Secretary, Ash Carter, also said there would be more air strikes against “high-value targets”.
Analysts believe his comments reflect acknowledgement of the lack of progress in defeating the militant group.
Separately, the US said Iran was being invited for the first time to international talks over Syria’s war.
Mr Carter’s comments, made to the Senate Armed Services Committee, comes a week after US-Iraqi forces rescued dozens of hostages held by IS in Iraq.

The husband replied: "I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows."

What we see when watching others depends on the purity of the window through which we look.
Easy to discuss other people, their lives and things that don't really concern us.
Yet we tend to forget- our window isn't that clean after all.
